Lately I have had the urge to start going back to my first few years in photography, of just me and my camera walking around, taking photos. Something that I have had slip by a little bit as I have focused on more portraits and fashion inspired shoots. Unfortunately I do not like carrying my camera equipment everywhere, so recently I decided to purchase a new Canon Powershot, Point and Shoot camera to replace the one I broke almost 2 years ago. That way I can keep it in my purse whenever I have the urge to take a photo. So yesterday I decided to go do some photo hunting with my new camera, I have to admit, the weather was fantastic. But instead of taking a ton of photos I only literally took a couple.
This was one I decided to keep and turn into a bw. I purposefully shot directly into the sun, so I could get the sun rays, which have been desperately missed over this winter in WI, along with allowing it to try to pick up a lot of reflected light int he snow and melting snow on the ground, at the same time wanting to capture the rest of it more in a dark aspect. I also spent some time standing around waiting to find the right people to be just strolling along that day.
So if I have to say anything about this pice, is that it reflects the waning of winter and my desire for spring to soon be on its way, so I can start enjoying more of the sun's rays again.
Taken: Downtown Milwaukee, WI, near Mckinley Marina on Lake Michigan.
It is beautiful, Abby. I know what you mean about the camera. I am looking for one that has the ability to fit in my purse, but run on rechargeable batteries. I have one but the buying of batteries causes me to not use the darn thing. I miss shots all the time by not carrying my large camera around with me.
beautiful shot, it almost looks like its at night?
