So how is everyone? Great I hope! Things are good here, it has been super nice taking a break from my photography, having the last few weekends to myself, hanging with friends and family, relaxing with some great books, etc.

I am actually going to be taking a break from photography pretty much until after the new year, if not a tad longer. I want to focus more on the business side of my photography, getting licensing, insurance, possibly looking at studios, you know, getting all the boring stuff into place. I also need to figure out a business plan, start marketing myself professionally, figure out pricing structures....yeah, the boring and hard stuff for me actually. lol But if I want to take the next step in my work to doing this as at least a side business, this is critical to my goals.

Lately I have actually been turning down job offers, so I definitely need to get this stuff in gear, so I can start taking on photography clients. I'm also hoping this break with also give me time to focus on some other things in life.

Actually this coming christmas eve will be the 5 year anniversary since my mom passed away...gosh it is amazing and to be honest surprising, how quickly the time has gone, but as I sit and reflect, I also think about how much I have changed personally since she has left. My one big goal since her passing was to embrace life, make changes in my personal life and how I spent it, especially finding a path in photography was not even in my radar until she left and I took her camera to the beach, well that was what started it all and the only thing I can say is that I hope I am doing her proud.

I am actually embracing the holiday season this year, I put my decorations up 2 weeks earlier then normal, I finished all my holiday shopping early, and as I sit here I feel very much in the spirit of the season, for lack of better words. I feel at peace.

So anyways...that is it for now, I just felt like writing some mindless words today. If I do not pop back on here before the holidays are here and gone, then I wish you all a happy season and new year.
